Ideas for Neighbour Day get together:

City of Charles Sturt encourage you to meet your neighbours this Neighbour Day.  Why not organise a social get together!

Neighbours coming together for the first time requires a bold step forward by just one person, you!  We encourage and support you to take this step.

Set a date and a location, and get promoting.  Meet in your street or the local park, a place where people of all ages can attend.

Take advantage of Councils “Hello” postcards; these can be collected from Libraries, Community Centres and from the Civic Centre.  Use the hello cards to drop your neighbours a note to say hi and to invite them to come along to your event.

Council have a few a Neighbour Day kits available for collection from our Community Centres*.  The kits contain:

  • Post it notes that can be used at name tags.
  • Pens, pencils
  • Cricket bat
  • Balls
  • Water balloons

At the event have fun, relax and get to know your neighbours.  It’s the perfect opportunity to discuss what’s available in the area, what you would like to see and also to arrange future events.  Such as movie nights, a block party, neighbourhood picnic, street party etc.  Contact us and we can assist with making your ideas happen!

Setting up an email list or social media group is a great way to keep connected.

If you do organise an event, be sure to let us know by tagging us in pictures or by using #NeighbourDay #Lovethewestside #NeighbourDayCCS
